Patient Details:
At the same surgery as her double mastectomy to treat her breast cancer, our patient had immediate reconstruction with gummy bear implants covered with belly tissue that was transferred microsurgically all at the same time. This hybrid technique is extremely useful for patients who don’t have enough belly tissue to give them their desired breast size. ECAPS is one of the only groups in the country who perform this complex surgery all at the same time, along with reconnecting nerves to restore sensation to the breast.
