Patient Details:
This 48 year old woman initially decided to not undergo reconstruction at the time of her left sided mastectomy for breast cancer. She stated that living with this decision has proven to be more and more difficult over time and wished to have reconstruction. A DIEP flap was used to build a symmetric breast mound with acceptable shape and size. The right breast was lifted slightly for improved symmetry.
